February 16th to March 4th, 2007

Co-lead role of Creon, King of Thebes, in an English adaptation of Jean Anouilh’s tragedy Antigone, directed by Shomee Chakrabartty.

 

First steps towards a professional acting career
(May 2004 - November 2006)

FIRST TRAINING IN FILM ACTING: At the Film & Video Arts Society of Alberta. Also through lead roles in indie, super-low budget feature Fitz + shorts Font (Indie Fest of Merit, 2009) & Reverie (Shaw TV), which caught the attention of Edmonton talent agent Darryl Mork.

FIRST TRAINING IN STAGE ACTING: With Michele Brown (Univ-ersity of Alberta), Brian Dooley & Bradley Moss (Dramaworks, Citadel). Also through co-lead roles in public exercises for drama courses (U of A), in the lead role of Un chapeau de paille d'Italie (Bernard Salva, U of A), and in the supporting role of The Diplomat
in Le voyage du couronnement (Josée Thibeault, L'Unithéâtre).

DAYJOB BIZ: Linguistics lecturer at the University of Alberta.
August 2006: successful completion of a PhD in linguistics.
